I recently made a Facebook post about an experience I had while on my morning run through the Leolyn Woods that read as follows:
I came around the corner on the trail in the woods where I was running and was stopped in my tracks, literally, by this leaf that was suspended in the air, just floating there. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Not a trick or illusion, not a string, or tie, nothing attached to it that I could see with my naked eye. I took this picture and many more…and didn’t notice it until I showed this picture to my aunt who quickly stated, “that’s an Angel” and got chills as she told me; “Angels often show themselves in a way we can understand to let us know that they are always here amongst us even if we can’t always see them”. The part that you don’t know, is that this happened to me once before about two years ago, while hiking at Camp Timbercrest, in Randolph NY. I had reached the top of a trail and when I looked beside me, there was a leaf suspended in air right at my shoulder level. I looked in disbelief and for any other reason why and how this leaf was there. I was mesmerized, and when I took a few steps, this leaf actually followed me. I was at the top of this hill, by myself in the woods, far away from anyone, just me and this leaf. Who would ever believe me? My ignorance this day, and that day in the Leolyn Woods was a grave oversight on my part not comprehending the miraculous sign that was placed right in front of me. It wasn’t until my aunt explained to me not so much about Angels, but about belief and our beliefs and not to ignore the grace of signs and symbols shown to us at any given moment. As we approach another Holiday Season, may we pray to hold strong and true our belief in God, the God of your own understanding, whatever that may look like to you, and to know we don’t need a to see a leaf suspended in air to believe what we know to be true. Happy Holidays and God Bless you all Namaste, Nancy
