Pema Chodron was born Deidre Blomfield-Brown in NYC. Today we know her as a Buddhist Tibetan nun. Perhaps you have read one of her many books. I had not! My newly sparked interest in Chodron came to light recently when one of my granddaughters asked had I ever read Chodron. In case we haven’t noticed grandchildren keep us on our toes! And not just children but neighbors and employers and every being we interact with! We were designed this way! We are here for one another! The above quote for me was in perfect harmony with Genesis and God’s blessings and declarations of good. With each day of creation our creator declared the day good! Chodron’s quote “nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know” fit perfectly in my world view. All situations, regardless of how they appear are gifts to guide us on our earth journey. God forgives all! It is we who do not forgive. When we keep ourselves tethered to the person and to the situation with which we are struggling the energy does not move. It can get stuck at the place we are stuck! When we bless others and let go, we free ourselves. Sometimes it takes only one good thought to open up the lines of communication. It is we who make it difficult. Sometimes you can feel the release as space opens for the good to flow. If we are having difficulty: ask and you shall receive! Also, we can help the situation by reminding ourselves that we live and breathe and have our being within the mind of God! Know it is all for you. Here is what happened in one of the many times I was in a fuss about a situation and just could not, or more likely, would not “let it go”. I was lifted up and a gigantic voice echoed through the room! “it’s all for you”! Now I was literally crying and laughing. Loud crying and loud laughter! Sometimes we just need to go back to the basics. We do not need to look far! It is all around us! What did I need to know? What I already knew! This was not a battle. This was a gift! I needed to know that this was a gift like so many gifts before this one. This was not cause for anger or annoyance. This was reason for celebration! I remembered! I do not know how many more times I will need this lesson, but I have eternity.
